A downloadable game for Windows

FORGE LEGACY

The dragon Ignarok devoured the fire of every forge in the world. Your father

went to face him. He never came back.

You are the son of a legendary blacksmith. Pick up the hammer he dropped, tear

the stolen embers from Ignarok's corrupted creatures, and relight the last forge

still burning.

 What is it?

An incremental arena RPG: real-time combat, deep meta-progression.

Every run you fight waves of enemies, collect gold, embers and materials. Every

death makes you stronger a skill tree to climb, a class to master, a forge to

raise. Die, upgrade, come back sharper.

 What you'll do

Fight waves of enemies across 3 chapters and 15 levels, ending in three

unique bosses: the Plains Ravager, the Grave Witch and the Headless Horseman.

Each one fights differently, and each one will punish you until you learn how.

Grow a skill tree of 59 nodes across three branches: offense, defense,

mobility. You'll never afford it all. Choose what you become.

Specialize five free classes (Berserker, Guardian, Ninja, Archer, Mage),

each with its own bonuses, drawbacks, abilities and passives. Unlock a second

class at level 10 and combine them.

Forge  craft your own weapons, armour and rings. Raise your forge level

to unlock seven rarity tiers, from Common all the way to Draconic. The rarest

gear is a long hunt  and it changes how you fight.

Pretty fun game so far, been doing runs in endless mode after beating the main areas.  That said, the way the skills are set up makes it look as if they were meant to be taken in order, but I could choose among any of them so long as I had the points.  Not sure if that was intentional or not.  Also, in the end-game you tend to make a lot of junk gear in order to raise your forge level.  It might be good to have some way of quickly smelting larger numbers of low end gear or something.

I'm not sure about the game balance, as I haven't played too terribly much yet.  From what I did see, melee options seem a bit weaker than range options to me.  Once I swapped to mage/archer, I was able to start wiping out waves much more easily, and made much easier progress.  Still, that might be a playstyle issue, so it would need further testing imho.

Overall, a fun horde survival game, already up to 4 hours on the game.

Thanks a lot for this, super useful feedback! The skill tree actually doesn’t depend on previous nodes, so yeah, you can take any node as long as you have the points for it. The fact that it looks ordered is something I clearly need to make clearer visually. The junk-gear grind for forge levels is fair too, I like the idea of a bulk-smelt option, noting it down. And I’ll dig into the melee vs range balance. Really appreciate you putting 4 hours in and taking the time to write this up.
